The New York Post is reporting that
Apple is working on a $19 million deal with Drake. The deal is for Drake to serve as a guest DJ for Apple’s new streaming service iTunes Radio. Itunes radio looks too be one of the leading competitors to Spotify and Tidal.
Parrell Williams and DJ David Guetta are also in talks to be guest DJs. Apple wants to offer one service that is similar to Pandora, Spotify and YouTube. There are plans for streaming music and video, artists’ pages, a YouTube-style post-it-yourself destination called Apple Connect.
Unlike their competitors Apple is looking to give users a three-month free trial period for its $10-a-month subscription service. Spotify and Tidal both offer 30-day free trials.
